This Lunar New Year series started with the goat. It was used in promotional material for a cognac brand. I have a collection of typographical ornaments that I decided to use in creating the illustration. The goat is composed of five elements. Two of them repeated in reflection. It was a different take on the subject than typical images in the genre and I was thrilled that my client appreciated that.

Since then I’ve created the dog, rat, pig, ox, tiger, rabbit and dragon as a personal challenge. It’s like a puzzle. The pieces are there. I just have to figure out how they fit together to bring the image to life.
